This is not recommended. Most graffiti comprises of dark-coloured aerosol paint which will remain visible under light paint. It would take multiple layers of paint to completely cover it up and even using a dark colour will still require several coats. This makes the job extremely time consuming and costly.
Try wiping graffiti with a light, penetrating oil such as “WD-40” or “Three-in-One”. Do not use paint thinners as they can soften the plastic and can cause clouding (if clear plastic) or permanent tackiness of the surface. Sometimes a light rubbing with ultra-fine steel or bronze wool will remove the paint. We recommend to enquire for a professional graffiti removal service.
If you have a high-profile site and get ‘tagged’ by a graffiti vandal at least once a month, the answer is YES.
